ADVENTURE RACING

Adventure racing is a multidisciplinary, team competition in which competitors face varied challenges requiring stamina, flexibility and teamwork. The most common disciplines are canoeing or kayaking, hiking and running, and biking. Racers must sometimes face "special events" or "mystery challenges." Some examples include climbing over walls or cargo nets, water crossings and finding hidden items, but the variations are endless. Teams must generally navigate an unmarked course and be largely self-sufficient, carrying food, water, and other supplies. The events range from "sprints" which last a few hours (see SOAR's West Lake Challenge) to expedition style races in which teams may be on the course for many days. SOAR provides services in course design and race management.

Additionally, SOAR offers training for new adventure racers and those who want to give it a try. Our training is offered in small groups, appropriate to the sport in which teamwork is such an important aspect. Private groups and even individual sessions can be arranged if desired, but we recommend the small group format as the best "bang for the buck."

If you enjoy the outdoors, overcoming obstacles and challenging yourself, adventure racing is the sport for you.

TEAM BUILDING

If you are a leader, you know that teamwork is important in many more endeavors than just sports. How much would it mean to your group to have truly synergistic connections between members, and between the group and other groups -- customers, suppliers, maybe even those you now regard as competitors? You tell us what you want to accomplish, what the particular challenges are and we work with you to develop a customized solution that addresses your needs and fits your budget. Outdoor challenges won't work with your group? Don't worry -- at SOAR we have other approaches and we aren't afraid to use them. Not in the South Florida area? Don't worry -- have fun, we'll travel. Can't wait? Don't worry, we're eager to get started on YOUR solution.
